Cataracts refers to the clouding of a dogs eyes. Cataracts manifest within the eye over time when yellowish-brown pigment becomes deposited within the lens of the eye, which disrupts the normal construction of the lens fibre. This leads to a reduction in the amount of light that reaches the cones of the eyes, causing a range of problems such as loss of good colour differentiation.Cataracts is one of the most causes of blindness in dogs.
